This is a federal law, not a state law that went into act last year, '08, i believe.
My son sees his doc and leaves with 3 months worth of prescriptions, instead of having to see him monthly.
for us it is easier since we are not having any troubles and his meds are working at the dose he is at. We just need prescriptions.
How do you do it?
Daytrano patch did NOTHING for my son, gave it up. Lots of people here posted troubles, especially with rashes. VERY happy with concerta!!
do you mean that they outgrow adhd or something else?
thanks!
We see our prescribing doctor every 3 months for a check in and for new presciptions. My son leveled off for over 3 years before we increased. AFter that, he was increased maybe a 1-2 years later, we are getting ready to look into it again.
I would think the doctor would want to check on your son's health while on the meds.
We DON"T use the pediatrician because he DOESN"T specialize in this type of medicine. He told us himself. He works with kids who are sick, physicals, broken bones, etc, but not mental health, which is what ADHD falls under.
I would look into a specialized doctor, your pediatrician can refer you. There may even be a better med for your son!!
How is doing??
My son was diagnosed with ADHD on 4/24/2007. He started on metadate cd 10, and about a month later he was bumped up to 20. He has been on that dose ever since. After the psycologist diagnosed him, we never saw her again, because she said his ped. would be the one who would handle the maintnence. We have seen his ped only during my son's annual physical. He just asks how things are going, i give him my concerns, and he just says wait it out, things might change. It has been almost 2 years that he has been on meds. I am just wondering if there is something else that is supposed to happen. I dont feel confortable just giving my son meds everyday..even though they help. i am just wondering is there some sort of re-evaluation process, or monotoring, or therapy, or something else that is supposed to happen. so i give him meds everyday, now what? You could try behavioral therapy which might get him to the point that he
