And if so what for? My ds (8) has been on it for a few years now for obession and anixety but I still see him having those issues. I am wondering if I should ask the doc if we should get him off it and see if there is any difference with or without it at this point. We just increased it to 50 mg and I see no difference from 25mg. He is swearing like crazy (over and over) saying the words. Nothing has helped. Thinking he is obessing with saying them over and over t o himself!

My son is on Zoloft 50mg and I see very little help if at all. I believe the combo of the zoloft and the Concerta is making his wose with Anxiety issues and impulsivity as well. The pharmacy says there are contradictions between the two and shouldn't be taken together. My son has been on it for three years and he still seems to have issues. We are going into the dr in 2 weeks to discuss it. We tried to cut back to 25 and it was a disaster. I have asked the doctor to look into tenex (guafacine) as a addition to the mix and then let up on the Zoloft. We are looking into it.My child's on Zoloft for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It's helped his anxiety a lot, but we also saw it make his ADHD worse. 25 mg was a really good dose for helping his anxiety, but the ADHD was too bad. So, we 1/2 the pill and he takes 12.5 mg. This greatly improved the ADHD, and his school performance, behavior, etc. improved. However, 12.5 mg wasn't enough to fully manage the anxiety, so we reintroduced guanfacine (I was hoping we could eliminate one med.). With this combo. of guanfacine and Zoloft, anxiety and ADHD are managed well.
Are you sure the cursing that you're seeing is a compulsion and not impulsivity related to the ADHD?
