How do you talk with your ADHD adolescent about love, sex, pregnancy, loverboys etc? Which fears in the relation department do you have while your child is growing up?

My children are too young. How old is the child/teen? . Start early (and if you didn't start early, start now)
. Have frequent short conversations rather than one big lecture
. Use TV, movies, or everyday situations as conversation-starters. (I try to point out to my daughter that most real boys don't act the way that some of the super-romantic guys on TV and in movies act.)
. Talk about what a healthy relationship with the opposite sex is and isn't
. Talk about the type of person (the character of a person) who would make a good life partner
. Talk about how a one-time mistake (unprotected sex) can have huge negative consequences for many people for a long, long time
. Make sure your child is comfortable talking to you and that you know their friends, where they are, and what they're doing.

I work with a number of young women in their late teens, early 20s, and I was recently shocked when a conversation came up and I discovered that these girls had started having sex at age 13, 14, 15 ... (one with a MUCH older adult male and one while high on the date-rape drug). So, that is one of my biggest fears. I fear my innocent daughter being manipulated and I fear unwanted pregnancy for both my kids. But so far, so good...
