Problem with adhd med | ADHD Information

I would pull him off his meds and go see the Cat scan people. Those sound like serious symptoms and could be coming from the med. That is what I would do.

My ds has been on Ritilin 15mg am/10mg noon for about 2 months now.  I just received an e-mail from his OT at school.  She stated that ds's gait is unusual and that his handwritting has become almost ilegible.  He used to write good before ritilin.  She also mentioned that his processing time is slower now.  Could all this be from the ritilin.  I have an appointment with his doctor next Wednesday regarding this.  Should I ask him if it is the ritilin causing this?  I have friends who's children are taking ritilin and they do not have this effect.  His doctor wants to do a CAT scan on him.  He's only 6yrs old do they do that at that age.  Well if anyone has some advise i'd appreciate it.

I'd do what the doctor is requesting. Better to rule everything out. It's
possible that he has epilepsy or something similar.

If the CAT scan rules out a secondary diagnosis, then try another med.
