Meds, losing insurance | ADHD Information

I started off on ritalin and switched to adderall.  The side affects were less intense for me.

I went up to alaska for 2 months and my insurence would only let me get 1 perscription every 30 days so I had to pay for a month of mine out of pocket.  If I remember correctly it was (between 40-50 for sure).  40 mg a day.  I'd imagine higher doseages would cost more but I don't know.

I'm nervous about this myself also, once I graduate college I lose my insurence and will have to start paying for my meds out of pocket.  Good luck, hope you find something that works.

Hi, I'm a 38 yr old woman who has been on and off different forms of Ritalin since I was 11.  For the past several years I have been on Concerta.  I'm about to get divorced and will be losing my health insurance.  My Concerta, without insurance, will cost 0/mth and that just isn't possible.  Going without is also not possible.  I need to be medicated to work.

I'm open to other stimulants.  The only one that didn't work for me was generic methylphenidate - gave me tummy problems.  I guess I would prefer that to can't-hold-a-job problems. :(

Anyone been through this and have any advice?  Haven't panicked yet, but it's lurking.

Thanks,
Kim
I pay for my adderall out of pocket and only pay 0 a month for 120 of the generic {Barr} Adderall - if all you can take is name brand ritalin I would see if something like generic adderall is an option
