Meds | ADHD Information

Hi my son is 9 and has just been dignosed with ADHD and conduct disorder. He's been hard work all his life and it took 2 attepts to get a name to whats wrong with him. the doc recommended that we put him on meds but we wanted to try other ways (star charts reward scheme first etc) we do this for a few weeks then jack forgets the drill so we have to update him and the chart. He's really clever and if he could concentrate could easily be the top of the class. he has a wicked personality and is funny and sweet. My question is, is it worth it to put him on meds. and if we did would we lose a part of our son? I want him to be happy and he seems so lost at times it breaks my heart.
Berni xIf it is the right med and dosage you shouldn't lose their personality. We have been throu 3 meds and this last one, Concerta seems to be doing the best for us so far. Just know EVERY child is different and what works for one might not work for the next.
