highly sensitive person website | ADHD Information

i come here to read about ADD to help understand my husband better, and i also feel i have a mild form myself, but i also know i am a "highly sensitive person" and i began to feel there may be some connection. I dont know how to add a link but if u type in "highly sensitive person" in google i am sure u will find it. There is a forum there also and articles, etc. and i hope everyone can ck it out and write back with their opinions as to whether alot of ADD people may also be highly sensitive....Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!my husband has been diagnosed ADD and bi-polar, he takes seroquel and seems to like it, he is supposed to take depakote but it made him emotionless, like a zombie so he tried going without it and seems to do fine just on the seroquel...and yes, it is complicated because everyone is different...hopefully you will have a good dr. that can figure it all out, but remember it takes time and may take several different combo's of meds to find the right one for you..good luck!

I have both ADD and BiPolar... diagnosed years ago with ADD, recently with Bipolar... I have something what you describe... my moods are all over the bored all day. I am being treated for both... Wellbutrin, Dekapote, Adderall. Have not been on them long enough to see if it all helps or not. I hope so! I do know that it is difficult to find the right medicine "cocktail" that works for you. I have been cruising the web for a month and a half now reading what I can about BP... Seems quite complicated to me when you are trying to collect all of the information, but there are plenty of resources out there. At least enough to give me some specific questions when I go into the doctor for my monthly report.

Good Luck!

Hi rapidthoughts,

Thanks for the info the Dr will be trying different mood stabelizers on me along with concerta.  I will let you know if he finds a good combo.  I guess it is better to learn all you can about it.  Its just sometimes the depression has been getting scary.   Thanks for the help

Hi Sunnydaize,

I have to say that I am also a highly emotional person.  Nothing seems to be in proportion.  I am either very mad, sad, happy, whatever it is never alittle emotion.  My psch told me that he is going to treat me for bipolar along with the ADHD.  He says ADD rarely travels alone.  Does anyone know anything about Bi polar along with Add, maby that is the connection of sensitivity? I haven't read up on Bi polar and I am not sure if I should!
