Has anyone else had experience with being an ex-smoker and starting ADHD medicine and beginning to smoke again. Since I started my Vyvanse I have started smoking again, because I have cigarette cravings..Please help!Yes, I have the same problem... I don't consider myself to be a smoker but before school and stuff after taking 30 mg in the morning I will have an intense craving for cigarettes. I've never had a major issue with smoking I think the worst I ever got was smoking 3 cigs in a day, but when that adderall takes effect man once the thought of a cig pops into my head it's really hard to shake. I think your brain when it's on stims is just craving more stims to supply even more dopamine when you're already feeling good. The best thing I can say is just to not have them... it's rough, and I've had trouble quitting my habit of buying cigarettes but once you got about two weeks under you the craving is easier to put away. I don't think addiction ever really goes away 100% you just have to try and work it. Sorry if that's not what you were looking to hear.
