My son picks on his scabs!! | ADHD Information

I used to pick my scabs and still do. I am not on meds for my ADHD. You do grow out of it eventually but my son also does this and needs constant reminders to stop. he is also on Zoloft for Anxiety because most of it happens when anxious about something. He does it on the Zoloft as well just not as bad.I never picked scabs much, but sometimes. I would pick my hands and still
have the nervous habit. I do it when I'm not nervous as well. I also used to
crack my nuckles a lot. I just seem to need to be doing something with my
hands. I have heard of people with that problem keeping silly putty with
them and playing with it so hat they have something to do with their hands. musicfanatic39896.3539930556

My son picked his fingers and all around the nailbeds, to the point they bled, were swollen and had horrible hang nails. The teachers used to comment.

Tenex helped relax him and he eventually stopped!

I used to do this a few years ago on my scalp, arms and legs. I went to the doctor because it grossed me out but I just could not seem to stop. He said it was anxiety related. I took anxiety meds for a few months and this helped. Hi everyone. My son (ADHD, 20 mg of metadate cd, will be 9 in May) has been picking on scabs on his scalp. Its been going on for months now. It started with 1 scab, now he has at least 5. He picks at them until they bleed, a new scab forms, and then he picks at them again so they never fully heal. Should I be concerned? It happens when he's at home, just relaxing, not during any stress. i havent really noticed if its something that he does while on meds or without.  I dont know if this is something i should worry about. bettybee21539895.2755324074
