I HAVE BEEN ON ADDERALL XR FOR ABOUT 8 DAYS NOW AND JUST UPPED FROM 10 MGS TO 15 MGS AND YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY ON 15 MGS AND ABOUT 7 HOURS AFTER I TOOK IT I WAS HIT WITH THEE WORST HEADACHE AND A TOTAL DEPRESSED DARK FEELING/MOOD.
LUCKILY IT DID GO AWAY OR MAYBE I JUST DIDN'T NOTICE IT AS MUCH WITH ALL THE XMAS EXCITEMENT.
I HOPE IT GOES AWAY FOR YOU SO YOU CAN GET THAT GREAT FEELING BACK AGAIN!
My son had the dizzieness and headaches for about a week (his second week) on Adderall. Now he seems fine. we have however started seeing these dark angry moods and almost depression type feelings he seems to have (crying uncontrolably and loudly very angry and possesive as well as spiteful) He's only four. I don't know if its just him or the crash from coming off the Adderall the doctor placed him on Welbutrin once a day to see if that helps with the depression feelings he's having. I'll let you know.Actually I have come down with the flu. It's been going around and I am battling it. Going in to work in the afternoon and rest over the weekend. So I will have to wait until I get over the bug to find out if part of the motion type sickness is the drug or the medication. Right now I am relieved that it may just be the flu.
I am on Day 8 with Aderall...and having a bit of anxiety, motion sickness and blurred vision today. It seems to be a bit of a roller coaster ride so far. I have had some positive experiences and some not so great...I don't like to onset or the coming down part. I am wondering if the aderall XR alleviates some of the peaks and valleysThat's interesting. I am experiencing the same thing. I am on my 7 day and noticed the past two days that I started to get dizzy and a headache. I am on 20mg xr twice a day in the morning. I hit hard at 7pm. I hope it goes away because I do like it when it works. It works from 7AM to 7PM. It's not really a graduall come down. Instead it hits me like a brick wall! But it is the only drug that seems to work for me.
hhhhhhhhhI believe that may be one of the side effects of Adderall. Obviously you can't live with it. Hence, you may want to talk to your Dr. about what you are experiencing. The Dr. may recommend that you change medication or simply lower the dosage. Good luck!
HI. I'm new to this site - my 17-year-old son has just been diagnosed with inattentive ADD and at the doctor's advice, is starting Adderol - 10 mg once a day - tomorrow. He's a big guy - 6-3 and over 200 pounds. Just wondering if the first 30 days at 10 mgs a day is likely to have any impact at all? Seems like such a small dose and of course I'm eager to see changes - he's very lethargic, spacy and in danger of failing classes and can't seem to get his act together. at the same time i know we should play it safe and not introduce a drug too quickly. does anyone have any thoughts about this as a proper start-in dose? thanks!I am on my third week of taking aderall. I weigh about 120, and I am taking 10mg around 7 n the am and then same amount around noon. I My doc started me with adderal because it is easy to change the dosage and experiement with the right one....Her rule of thumb is to start low, and if you don't have the negative side effects....gradually move up, I started at 5mg, then7mg and so on. I think how your body metabolizes is factor as well. Thanks so much for the responses, which are really helpful. Guess we'll start slow and hope for the best! (It is the Adderall XR - still getting used to all the names!)kspring--
It is nice to have you. I just joined yesterday, and the members have already made me feel like part of the family! There is a wealth of encouragement here.
I am wondering about his dosing as well. I am female, and well, without divulging too much info let's just say I am 5'7"and I don't weight 200#
I started Adderall XR last Friday at 15mg in the a.m. and was advised to up the dose to 30mg today if I didn't notice improvement. I know that everyone is different, but I would advise that you not wait the 30 days before you call the doc if you are not noticing anything. I have found that with meds I have taken, I usually know by 2 weeks if it is working. Even though he is larger, his age may be a big factor. I have a female cousin who is his age and experienced great results with Adderall. I will check and see what dose she is taking and see if that is insightful. I noticed, too, that you said he was on Adderall and not AdderallXR. I am on XR and that alone can make a huge difference.
I hope this was helpful! Blessings--C.
