I feel bad for her too, but now maybe she will find a job for which she is better suited and other kids won't have to go through what your son has been through this year. My son and all the trouble we have gone through with his teacher not following the 504 and probably isn't going to do this now either. She got her pink slip she will no longer be working at our school next year. How much do you think she will put into it now? After all those meetings with the Advocate and now squat. we have a meeting to discuss his homework with her and my son this afternoon but she spends most of her time in tears. I feel bad for her but My son is special needs and those needs need to be addressed by Gen Ed teacher.

I'm glad to hear that she won't be teaching next year, but that pink slip should have been 2 weeks' notice.  There's no way that woman should be in the classroom the rest of the year.

You still have grounds that she has to follow the 504.  I don't care if the school has to have someone in that room constantly observing her, they are required to follow the 504 and there are repercussions if they don't!  I'd talk w/ your advocate how to proceed for the rest of this year.  At the least, I think you have the right to ask for detailed and frequent feedback so you can be assured they are following the 504.

That school should be grateful that you didn't start talking to the superintendent long ago, and that wouldn't make the principal look good.

Maybe I am being cruel/harsh, BUT, she didn't help your son and maybe there were other children having the same problems with her. Maybe the school finally realized what she was really like when she cried through a serious parent meeting.

She should not be teaching. Maybe she would be better at the high school level, however, when my son is in high school, I will still need his 504 plan followed.

Maybe she needs another career. What she was doing to the children, including your son, was plain wrong, and illegal!!

I agree with the termination but also think it should have been sooner, especially if she is damaging the children. I might even have done it immediately, but maybe they have no substitute?!

It sounds like she is on the not returning next year list (not being rehired), like our school does, but NOT this early!!
