9 yr old pooping pants | ADHD Information

Recently my 9 yr old son's Daytrana meds were increased to 30 ml. Since then he poops his pants at least once a day. Does anyone know if this is associated with the meds?If your son started at about the same time as his meds it is easy to make a connection. But it may be that something else also started at about the same time. Call your son's doctor and discuss this with him/her. Also, try to go gentle on your son- this must be hard for him even if he acts like it isn't. Let us know what your son's doctor thinks.Some people feel the meds aren't he cause but I think for my son they were.  Do a search for and have your son checked for "encopresis".  It is when the bowel gets so stretched by constipation that it just doesn't work anymore and the poop comes out on it's on.  The child may not even notice it and they get desensitized so they don't smell it.  It is curable but takes a long time.  The teasing my son faced was worse than the consequences of stopping meds.  I am not against meds at all by the way.  Most people really need them.  This could be very well associated with the meds especially if it happened around the same time. My son we found peeing in a corner of his room for months and when we asked him why he said he was too lazy to go to the bathroom. This has clearly ended and the carpet was able to be cleaned and saved.
