DS (8) thinks it is just fine and funny to say farty, poopy sh*tty whenever he wants. I say "anthony, are you done eating?" he says Yes I am sh*t. and laughs. We have done EVERYTHING with him, ignore, take everything away, time out, etc.. you name it we did it!! and sometimes he will whisper it too and he loves the reaction from me no matter how bad my reaction is. Teacher says to ignore it. yea well, it is so hard. My blood is on fire he always just says this words on his own while eating or watching tv. he says he will stop and he just keeps going. He claims it is hard to stop. Maybe implusive? I have never seen anything like this. He is making me so crazy!!

Hello- I know it is hard to deal with a situation like this. You know, there is a condition called 'Tourettes'. One of the forms it takes is the person's compulsive repetition of curse words and other unacceptable words. You might ask your son's pediatrician to recommend a specialist for him. There is medication to help this. Another thought: you might want to take your list of son's meds and speak to a pharmacist about them. There are some meds and combination of meds that can also cause this.
Please let us know what happens. If he can't control saying these words, he can't. No matter what you do. You might want to ask him at a relatively quiet and stressfree time if he is sad or happy or angry when he says these words. Don't react to his answer- just take the info to the doctor. Best of luck.

I agree with Randy, if he says he can't control it I would certainly look into tourrettes as well sp? I have heard this from kids I used to work with in hospitals. It is worth looking at.If he does it eating send him straight to bed. If he does it watching TV, turn it off and send him bed. Pajamas on, lights off. No reaction, no discussion.
