Bragging! | ADHD Information

Yesterday I found out that my son ate lunch "on the stage." When I first
heard about it, I thought he was banished to some new Siberia and
wanted to know what on earth he did to get stuck there.
On the contrary - when students are recognized for exemplary behavior
and being helpful to their fellow students, once a week they get to sit at a
table where they are visible to everyone and are called out by name before
everyone starts eating.
The SPED teachers were going nuts - he's the first kid with an ADHD
IEP/504 to be honored that way this year. I didn't even know about the
program because it was assumed he wouldn't ever be eligible for it.
My son's reaction - "I think I was randomly chosen." A part of me thinks
that was the best thing about it - he doesn't think it's any big deal. He
didn't have to work at it - this is just how he is now. He doesn't even
remember when he was so frustrated that he was attacking kids on the
playground and was this close to being expelled.
Can you believe how much progress our kids can make once everything
falls into place?Congrats! isin't it nice when your kids do something so right they get recognition for it. What a good feeling!
