vyansese | ADHD Information

my son started today 30, he is hyper,i asked him how he felt and he said hyper. is this med one that takes a few days to see the dose or is it one that you know pretty quick if you need a higher dose? i'm supposed to let the dr know on mon, but i hate to up his dose too quickly. Vyansese is also a stimulant medication. When the medication is effective you should see results within an hour after taking the med. The only ADHD med that has to be ramped up is straterra which is a non stimulant and a blood level medicatiion so it can take up to 6 weeks before full effectiveness is seen. This doesnt apply to stimulants. These meds are started at the lowest dose possible and then raised accordingly depending on clinical response. Everyone responds individually. My own son was very very QUIET, VERY OCD-like and very
unlike himself for the first two weeks on Vyvanse
(30mg). He lost his sparkle and personality. It came
back that within that 2nd week and the 3rd week, he was
back to normal, but was able to focus and attend to his
work. the difference/change was amazing!

I would say give it a few more days to see if his body
adjusts but if you start noticing bad side effects or a
negative response than what you're looking for, stop the
meds and let the prescribing doctor know.
