Euphoria is an unwanted side effect of stimulants when used for treating ADD. If you are taking them to "get high" then you are going down the wrong road.
OpenYourEyes38347.8723148148Rae70 Yes I do have ADHD.. Ive tested positive for it, and just as of recently was tested useing DSM-IV, i met all 17 of 18 total symptoms.... Circus Monkey, I in no way claim to have any medical or professional experience of medications or ADHD.
It has been my experience however that people with true ADHD do not become high from the meds, unless they do not need them, or they on the wrong doseage
If you were my son or myself, I would be telling the doctor about this and changing the meds and/or doseage to prevent this 'high' happening.
If you are becoming high on it, then you are possibly damaging your brain in the same way illegal amphetamine users do.
Food for thought Circus Monkey. And I commented as I did, because I find it offensive that you think getting high is a perk of ADHD. It is bad advertising and labels ADHDers as drug abusers. I am most likely not the only one who would feel this same way.
I am not trying to start trouble between us, I just think you need to rethink your attitude about this 'high' you are talking about.
Regards Rae
Rae you're right. I do need some dosage adjustment.. If i could delet my post i would!

Yup I can relate to that - I have done that with posts occassionally - but thank god for the Edit button . I have gone in and changed posts on this other forum I visit, because I have come across wrong and upset people, but then what people say in the following posts (which still refer to my original one) makes them look like they are being mean, because I changed mine to look all nice LOL.
So if you change yours warn me !!!!! LOL
I know what you mean!! but i cant help that my medication causes some euphoria!!
circus monkey - you obviously do not have ADHD - it shows!!!! If you were ADHD you would not feel high on the right medications
So if it is advise on taking drugs illegally - it is not us that you will get it from.

Rae is right on the right medications you wouldn't have a high feeling. My son is on Adderall and doesn't get high. While his dose was to large he got sleepy now that it is right he is functions much better. You should be ashamed of yourself using Amphetamines to get high. They are designed to help people who need them and it the people like who abuse them that make it so difficult for the people who need them to get them. I'm more likely to belive you've been misdiagnosed. Or that they have given you the wrong med's. Posting such a topic on this forum seems more like a cry for help and a drug abuse problem than any thing else.

You f-ing A-hole! You obviously don't have ADD. You are just one of those people who use ADD as an excuse to get high. ADD is very serious and I'm sick of people like you trivializing it. You are DISGUSTING.

Scary if you read through my post exchange with circus monkey - you will discover that this person is not a bad person. So dont abuse people.
I thought that the medication if use correctly for a true ADHD/ADD person would actually do the ops. for them (speed would actually slow the person down, caffine would actually not cause them to stay awake...)
I agree with shinsetu-hito DO NOT INHALE IT...I knew a guy in high school that thought it would be an easy high, heluim and then he huffed spray paint during the summer my JR year he didnt return for 6 months he was put in the psych ward, and drug rehab he had caused himself unreversable damage to his brain he was a football player that had to go into OT to learn how to walk again.. it was the sadest thing I ever saw

To a point that's true, but if you take enough it will effect you ADD or not. For me it's not so much that it doesn't work (as speed) it's just that there is no "high," no euphoric feelings. So whenever people talk about being "high" on Ritalin I just shake my head.
PLEASE TELL ME!!!
best way to get high off XR??
PLEASE TELL ME!!!
Trade it for some pot?
But seriously, don't snort it. It will gum up your lungs. Youthful stupidity should not be lethal. It reminds me of the young kids in Japan who will huff anything, glue, gasoline, paint thinner. You can see them deteriorate before your eyes and you can't do anything to help them. At some point so much of their brain is dead (forever) that they lose even the desire to huff glue.
