a therapist mentioned that for josh, but josh never is uplifted, he always negative. no matter what he is never happy.
We are thinking he may have Bipolar. He is getting revaluation to see if he does. Anyone have or know a child who has this? Im reading lots of books about it but would love to hear from real people! I often wonder about this and my son. I do not have the money to have him properly assesed. My insurance does not cover testing. We paid 2500 for the 1st test a few years ago. My son has mood swings and gets very angry sometimes. We are thinking the mood swings may be from rebound because they happen mostly when he comes down from the meds. He can also be talked down pretty easily. Now reading more about Bipolar I dont believe he has it. His rage fits last only about 10-20 mins not hours! He sleeps good at night. So I believe thats out. Yes my son is like that coming off the meds too. I had this too with my dd. When coming off of meds she had extreme mood swings. I have found that taking 1/2 mg of Tenex when the meds are starting to wear off has been very helpful. It took a few days for it to work though.
