Angry over Insurance | ADHD Information

Well, it is confirmed.  My insurance does NOT cover ADHD medication for individuals over the age of 18.  Do they think that people just stop being ADHD at age 18?  It's crazy.  So, now I'm looking into supplemental prescription insurance.  There has to be some help out there somewhere without me having to quit my job and go on welfare.  My insurance also only covers 20 visits per year with a mental health professional.  Like they think one can solve their problems with help just once or twice a month?  I'm fighting to get 6 more visits with my therapist.  There are some good insurances out there but mine is for s***!  Sure, my insurance will cover meds for depression and anxiety but what good is treating the symptoms and not the cause??  I just don't flippin get it.  I sometimes feel that I ought to threaten my insurance company by telling them that if they don't cover this medication, I'll kill myself and then my family can sue them for not helping me.  (Of course, that's irrational thinking but is that what it'll take?)

Thanks for reading and letting me vent.
