New to forum and meds - useful diet tips? | ADHD Information

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and ADD medication.  I was diagnosed with adult ADD a couple of months ago and have been taking Adderall XR 30mg for just over a month.

I am 23 years old and during college I have suffered depression and weight gain - chalking that up to family problems, I never suspected ADD until my older brother was diagnosed last year.  The medicine has improved my performance in college immensely.  And I have lost about 15 lbs in the past month without drastically changing my diet at all.  I've noticed appetite suppression, but I always make sure and eat (not 3 squares a day necessarily, but I've never been great at that).

The weight loss is a very welcomed reaction to the medication and has provided me with a new outlook on diet and exercise.  I finally feel like I can control cravings for fast food and start on a diet that could maximize my weight loss.  Plus have energy and motivation to work out.

I am curious if any of you have any ideas about calorie intake, suggested foods, etc.  I want to be able to start an effective diet and workout regimen in conjunction with Adderall that will allow for the maximum level of safe weightloss.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
