Started Tenex.... | ADHD Information
Day 7: has been sleeping like a baby without a single drop of Melatonin, stopped stealing food randomly, and doesn't trash his room every morning anymore in a fit of rebound madness!
Still pitches the occasional hissy, but doesn't last nearly as long.... leaves the computer or playstation now without sounding like we are killing him.... spontaneous hugs, kisses and cuddles.... I could get used to this!
Haven't been able to see his first baseball game on Tenex yet, as we've had rainouts all week.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop, but enjoying things at the moment..... this Tenex stuff is a miracle!

BumpFabulous that you're seeing such wonderful effects already! I'm so happy for you. Started Tenex .5 in morning, .5 at bedtime.
Also dropped the Focalin down to 20mg xr from 25 and dc'd the melatonin (so we could get a true view of how the Tenex affected his sleep).
Observations:
First day, gave at bedtime, some minor smoothing of rough edges noted. I thought he slept well, but he told me in the morning he was up much of the night, just not anxious about it.
Second day, more smoothing noted, although pitched a major moody hissy about something or another. Slept all night and woke up happy as a clam.
Third day (today), cuddled with Dad for an hour while we watched TV. That NEVER happens, even on max dose of Focalin. Somewhat less physically hyper although still pitched a hissy during the day about something minor. Went right to sleep at 10:30 when we told him to.
It appears to be building up in his system slowly but surely. I'm curious to see what the rest of the week brings us, as well as his first baseball game on Tenex.

How wonderful for your son and the rest of the family. I really love the tenex too. It really helps lessen the meltdowns. I hope all continues to go well.
An update: playing a bit with dosing times and amounts... we figured out if he doesn't get at least .5 at bedtime, he wakes up hyper. But then you can really tell when the AM dose wears off in the late afternoon.... he tics from the focalin and starts getting all whiny.
In general thought, still extremely pleased with the results.
