Forced Off Of Adderall | ADHD Information

Is there any way you can contact your old physician to see if he can either continue to write you scripts and mail them to you?  (apparently there ARE online pharmacies in the US that will do mail order but the process is a bit tedious)  Or maybe he could recommend someone closer to you?  Springfield MO should produce a decent psychiatrist.  I can understand your concerns about how doctors are apprehensive because of the meth problems.  Perhaps that GP was scared because he didn't want to appear like he was supporting a "habit". even though it's not one.  doctors are people too and have their phobias too.

I think the name of the website is "drugstore.com"  Check it out and good luck.
I am a 55 yr old male, have been on and off Adderall for about 10 yrs. Recently moved to southwest Missouri Ozarks way out in isolated country (Ava, Mo). I am about 40 miles away from a mid-sized city, Springfield. When I got here there was a psychiatrist who commuted here from Arkansas once a week to treat people at the local "counseling center". He was good, I was able to continue my Adderall (generic, 20-40mg daily). Then he retired and my problems started. A local GP helped me for a couple of months. He was highly suspicious and eventually told me to find a psych, even though he had gotten my records. People here are very sensitive about stimulants I think because this area was a huge meth manufacturing region. I have never used drugs like that and never would. I have not been able to find a doctor in this area who understands this disorder. I would guess that they tend to not advertise themselves to keep drug addicts away? Anyway I wanted to know if there was a way to locate ADD doctors. I have been off of my medication for going on two months. The first two days were the worst. I am still very tired most of the time and, since I also have severe depression, I have to say I feel pretty horrible. As a matter of fact, for the last 8 years the only medication that has lifted my depression is the Adderall. I was thinking maybe they would be more likely to prescribe Ritalin? I've never been on it but I wouldn't mind trying the time-release version.
