Has anyone heard this about Strattera | ADHD Information

I think that a child psychiatrist could answer the question.Jessica N40017.9027662037

My dr and the pharmacist told us that you could stop the med all at once but that slowly decreasing the dosage was the better way.  I did read somewhere that people who take Strattera and are having good results who go off and then try to go back on, often find it doesn't work anymore.  I don't know if that is really true or where I read it so I can't go back to check the source.

Good luck!

I was considering taking my 11 yr old daughter off her Strattera for the summer. However, when I discussed this decision with her therapist she warned me that there was a study done and it basically said that by doing that and then putting them back on it would mess with their psycological system.  When my boyfriend tried to relay this messege to his ex about their 7 yr old, she basically called him a liar. So in short I was wondering if anyone else was given the same advice as I was?

maybe dose up and then dose down to get off. Jessica N40017.9030671296I do know that with Strattera you can stop them all at once. I have another child who took it and the Dr stopped her completely. However, I was told that antipsychotic drugs mess with their head when taken off and put back on. I was told that by a psycologist, however my boyfriends ex says she was told by the childs family Dr that is was safe to stop it then start up again when she felt ready to.
