Proactin levels and adderall xr | ADHD Information

I recently got a call from my doctor stating that my proactin levels are elevated and he thinks it may be due to the adderall xr that i take but he wants to me to see an endocrinology doctor. Has anyone had this side effect from adderall before. I still don't know if it's the drug yet causing my levels to be high or not. I've been on this medican for 6 years and have been having femal issues just this past 2 years which is why he tested me for an elevated proactin level. The thing i don't understand if it's the drug how come i never had issues the first 4 years i was on the meds and it's just now showing signs of side affects. I do know though if it is the meds they want to take me off and i don't know if i could handle that  since my body has been used to the meds and i've been taking them for the past 6 years.
