Been a long time..asking about med change | ADHD Information

Hey all!  Its been a very long time since I've posted here.....life gets crazy sometimes (not that any of you all know what this is like! )

Soooo, DS (7yr old/ADHD) had his appendix out in the beginning of the summer.  Prior to this he was doing well on 54mg of Concerta.  He lost about 10-15% Body weight, which was tough since he was only about 48lbs to begin with.  Thankfully, he's gained quite a bit back, but we had to push his dose back to 36mg b/c of the weight issue.  So, school starts here in 2 weeks, and I'm on the fence about increasing again.  He's more himself, but with a little less listening etc but he is just 7yrs old.    I'm thinking of changing to something like Daytrana, as he is in sports and the practices in the fall last until about 7pm, which is the tough time of day.  BUT I'm just not sure.   Should I leave things alone, go up on dose or switch?  I want school to start smoothly (last year was a disaster).....
If it were me, if things are working,  I wouldn't mess with it.  You could add a booster of a short acting in the afternoon/evenings if you needed to.
