Do I have the symtoms | ADHD Information

Share
Avonelle,
ADHD is such a subtle, sophisocated and complex multifacited condition you will
need to educate yourself about. The relationship and degree of effect of each of
the idicators firstly in general and then in how it all relates to You. This can be a
process that is tedious with personal emotional blocks often getting in the way.
Your local or nearest ADHD Support Group may help here as they might have a
person that can guide you through this. On Professional Help, well try to get to
see a Specialist in ADHD. (often more costly but more appropriate) Watch out
for the less experienced they may be knowlegeble but will not have the Practice
Experience. ( Time spent dealing solely with ADHD).
Tip! The more you write down about how you are responding to those around
you and recording of instances of events the more you will see a consistancy
of indicators over an extended period of time. Being ADHD your ability to do
this will provide a portrait or profile for an experienced diagnoser.
Good Luck with your journey of discovery and remember there are millions
of us who are on that journey or are diagnosed, so you are in good company.

i myself have just recently been diagnosed with adhd and one thing i complained about the most was not comprehending what people say when spoken to but for some reason they kind of blew me off about that.  tell me if i desribe it right. . .your looking right at the person you hear them talking but your trying so hard to listen but you can't.  kind of like the peanuts when the adult only go wah wah wah.  Your symptoms sound similar to mine i would definatly talk to your doctor.

Hi,I have a suspicion that I have Adhd. I recently have gone back to school and I find that I cannot concentrate on my work. My mind is always wondering off to something else. I'm making dumb  mistakes.I 'm very forgetfull. I will completely forget  something with in 10 mins  of being told,  I will forget what I'm saying mid sentence.I can't remember what I've learnt in  class, even just after class is over.I have trouble comprehending what people say to me. When people speak to me I don't answer ,ands it not because i did.nt hear.I have noticed these things before ( for the last couple years)and I believe I'm getting worse.I've always had poor concentration.I'm not depressed, given the circumstances. I'm very worried I will not do well in school. And I do have a part time job. Does anyone else have these symtoms.  I'll be happy for any feedback.        &nb sp;  Thanks

THere are a zillion tests on line to see if you can recognize the symptoms.  Honestly, you need to go in to see a doctor and explain your position.

That sounds so familiar I actually use to think I had a hearing problem until I got tested and realised I can hear fine but I hear everything. So yes I hear my friend talking to me but I also hear the cars passing on the street, the tv on in the other room and any other conversation and background noise that is going on at that moment. The problem is when you have ADHD your brain doesn't distinguish the sounds well so while you would think the person closest to you would get priority in your head the truth is all the signals are coming in just as loud and seem just as important. You can't focus on any one of them because you hear them all and can't tune them out.
