| glass of milk helping daughter sleep? | |||
| |
My daughter has LOTS of energy when trying to fall asleep. About a week ago, she had allergies so we were giving her a Loratadine allergy pill in the morning, and for some reason, she was asking for a glass of cold milk at bedtime (which is not the norm for her). Each night for this past week, sleep has come easy to her. Figured it was one of 3 things: - The Loratadine allergy pill in the morning - the glass of milk at night - the fact she has been going to bed later than usual (but is sleeping later than usual too). She got her Singulair allergy meds approved by insurance so NO more Loratadine the last 2 days. But I've been making her drink a glass of milk just before bed (and she is still going to bed later). Last night she was full of energy and reluctant to try to go to sleep. I made her drink a glass of cold milk- then she was out like a light in minutes. It seems like she drinks the milk and her nervous energy disappears. Has anyone else had this experience? There is one drawback. My daughter has just overcome nightime incontinence about a year ago & still has occasional accidents. When she drinks a glass of milk just before bed I need to wake her in the middle of night to use bathroom or she pees in bed. |
