Winding down in evening | ADHD Information

my son is in school, 6th grade, i'm at work all day.  When I get home from work, usually around 5pm, i have to round my son up.  He's usually, outside skateboarding, rollarblading, or basketball playing.  He plays until its dark, then he comes inside.  My problem is: we don't communicate important things, like paperwork getting signed or anything really.  He is beginning to stop me in the morning when i'm running out the door, needing something signed.  He doesn't like to eat at the table, but right in front of the television, I can't seem to talk directly to him when I need to basically do what I think we should be doing, and that's, spending a bit of family time together.  Any ideas on how to have "family" time with just him and me?  I don't always have time to play a game because of time constraints, I'm a single mom.

I would make a firm rule that the two of you need to sit down and have dinner together every other night at least. So if you can say if we didn't yesterday, we will today...No TV on, just the two of you. You can get the basic stuff out of  him that you need to know, but also, in the long pauses, it is amazing what they will say.
