ADHD in Philadelphia | ADHD Information

Hi, my seven ( almost 8) year old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD. He is a great kid but is having trouble making friends. I was looking for other parents in the philadelphia area who might be having the same trouble. Perhaps we can talk some and set up play meets for the kids? My son is into video games and star wars! I would be glad to hear from others in my shoes. Thanks  I am not in the philadelphia area, however, a lot of us here have said the same thing, our kids have trouble making friends.

My son is now 12, but back when he was 8 I put him in after school activities like chess, legos, etc all at the rec center in town. I also left our town and went to another one where he could make friends outside of school. No one there knew him or had any preconseption of him. He got a fresh start. It helped, but so didn't finding his activities in town where he met kids at other elementary schools. Now they are in middle school and know each other.

We also played sports and that helps as well. A friend mentioned bowling as something her kids like to do as well.
