Focalin how long does it take to work?? | ADHD Information

I use a 2.5 for a seven year old for sports. Works fine. This is a booster. Anything more would keep him awake.Jessica N40095.8338078704I need it for sports and evening activties.  He seemed to work a little faster last night. The Dr told me yesterday to give his body time to get the full effect which could take about a week or two.  If taken every day It's never taken more than 30 minutes for my son's Focalin to kick in.... you could set a watch by it.

For one child it takes 45 minutes to work, for the other it takes 20 minutes max. Why not try 15 mg XR in the morning, then a 2.5 mg short acting if needed. A 15 mg will last longer, and you may not need to the booster. Do you need it for homework? Sports?Jessica N40094.8822569444

I have recently put my son on foclain 5mg in the evenings. During the day he takes Focaline xr 10mg. It seems that the meds in the evening take about a hour to two hours to work?? Is that normal?? Should I increase his dosage. The dr has told me I could if I need to but I hate doing it. If it will still take  a hour to two hours to work. My son is five almost 6 years old.
