You may need a combination of stimulants and antidepressants. If your stimulant experience left you feeling too unemotional, you may have been on the wrong dose/medication. I'd work with a psychiatrist to get the right balance and dosage of meds. Don't give up! There are a gazillion options out there...you just gotta find the one that's right for you. I can say that I've tried almost everything for ADHD. I
had an epiphany today. For almost 10 years, I've been
combating
my ADHD symptoms with at first, the first line of drug
therapy, Stimulants. Ok, I focused, but then it made me
too lop sided, unemotional... etc.. so then I end up
smoking pot... I then tried various different
anti-depressants. Still with these drugs, I've been
trying to regulate my hyperactivity, but then there is
still a lack of calmness, that would actually allow me
to sit for longer periods of time and read.. I wish.
So, I'm asking, would something like Intuniv work? Would
that calm me down?, and help nurture my creative side?
I feel like I'm in an uninspired vicious cycle right
now:(
