Hmm, where does this belong? I don't think I've seen a post like this before.
My son is in 2nd grade. He's doing pretty well considering. For the last 2 grades, he has had wonderful, supportive teachers. In kindergarten he did not, and it made our lives pretty unbearable. My son was newly dx'd. His teacher had no desire to help him, and tried to avoid it as much as possible by getting rid of him (study hall, princial's office, suspensions). I thought this was the way it was going to be. I had no idea what an idiot and worthless p.o.s she was. It wasn't until he got into 1st grade and I realized it doesn't have to be this way. He since has had nothing but wonderful, caring teachers. I have a lot of regret that I failed him, especially with such an imperative school year.
I was starting to get over it, but then last school year I learned she was sharing private information about him with someone outside of the school system, basically gossiping. I warned her about the FERPA laws and how she violated them. This brought back a flood of emotions.
This school year, I help his teacher out on a weekly basis. I'm so afraid I will run into this former teacher and that it will bring back the memories again.
I'm a very warm, happy person, but I despise this woman and the grief she contributed to. Is this crazy talk? Am I unreasonable?
How do I get over this?
That is all within yourself.
May I ask how she handled you "reminding her" of the FERPA laws? She should be afraid of you!!
I personally would want "something" done to that teacher, that is just me. She caused you a lot of hurt and pain, as she did to your child. I bet she is still doing what she does to another "victim" because we all know she hasn't changed.
What did the principal have to say? If not much I would go over head to superintendant!
They need to know, especially for her file and those all important reviews. God forbid they gave her tenure!
If you feel the need, you can always go to the school committee. I bet there are members there would love to know this, and may have children in her class.
I wouldn't end until those who need to know, know.
Let me ask you, have any teachers since this p.o.s. mentioned it because I bet she wrote a thesis in your child's file to pass along. I would want to know if she did. SHe is a trouble maker, very vindictive, and ill!
Also, remember this, your child was NOT her first victim, there are others who suffered before yours and those will suffer after yours did.
The higher ups need to know, and the continuing gossip - she is very, very bad!
