All Meds make my son lethargic | ADHD Information

that's very disconcerting about your son, especially since he is obviously not getting any better. I had a problem with becoming VERY lethargic, so much to the point i didn't even want to move. But my problem was solved after realizing that when i switched back to the rband name, and got off the generic version of this particular med, it went away. For me, it can make that big of a difference. But the majority of the things you listed that he has been on wouldn't even apply to that situation, as even if he was one who is sensitive to generic versions like myself, almost all the ones you listed arent even made in generic versions yet so it would not apply. Good luck, I know you're situation is frustrating. Please keep posting... I would like to know if his situation turns around.
Good luck.

Have him checked for a mood disorder...sometime Bi-polar can be confused with ADHD. Lexi was in the hospital for 2 weeks this summer and there were actually 3 kids in there that had been on stimulants and it ended up that they needed a mood stabilizer instead. Once they took them off the ADHD meds and on Mood meds...things changed immediately. And they left the hospital. ADHD and Mood disorder...especially bi-polar, have the same symptoms at times and look the same. Something to look at...

There may be something else going on.  Has he been checked for epilepsy?  Not all forms are the thrashing around seizure types.  Check with your pediatrician.  Maybe a non-stimulant might work better?  Maybe he's deficient in some vitamin or mineral or something?  Maybe the work is too challenging or not challenging enough?

Every medication my son has been on Ritilin,Concerta,Vyvanse
make him very lethargic and that is starting at the lowest dosage.
It appears to me that being so lethargic is causing him to still
be zoned off in school, and doing little to no work.
When he is off the medication he is too busy being silly, and
impulsive to do his work.
Has anyone had success with a medication that did not
cause them to be so zombie like?

This has been going on since 2nd grade,my son is now in 5th grade
and same thing every year. He just sits there and does nothing, and
when they tell him to work,he just stares at them a lot of times
and goes back to doing nothing.
