Protein and Dopamine production? | ADHD Information

I thought that I read somewhere recently that there seems to be a connection between protein consumption and Dopamine production. Am I crazy, or does anyone else know anything about this?  Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or maybe it is wishful thinking, but my son seems to have a better day when he gets some protein with breakfast instead of just carbs or carbs and fruit.  Has anyone ever tried a high protein diet with their kids?

I don't know what the studies say but in my family my son and I both do better with more protien! I have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and if I don't get enough protien my mood gets down right nasty.  I've also heard some people on this board talk about their kids being diagnosed with this along with ADHD and it helps tremendously to control the diet.

I don't necessarily think my son is hypoglycemic but I do notice he does better with protien.  His psychiatrist also says that her patients tell her that their kids do better with more protien.
