has he had his son evaluated? have you talked to him about this with his son? how is school going for the child?

Was he left by his mother and suffering sepertion anxiety?

Remember, it has nothing to do with the two of you adults and your relationship. His first obligation is to his child. He is a good man.

Have you talked with him or emailed him?

Yes his son has been evaluated and he is doing very well in school. His mother had issues and I don't like to go into their personal details.

Yes I know he is a good father but I think he didn't handle tell me very well. I felt like he could have waited to really think about what he had to say other than fragments of words. Also that he didn't even asked to be friend rather than just disconnect all together.
I recently met a single dad with a 9 yr old son that has ADD & ODD. I have a 13 y/o son with ADHD and possibly bi-polar, 10 y/o girl with emotional issues and almost 2 y/o son. At 1st it was great to meet someone that has been through some of the same struggles but from a male's perspective. When I 1st met him we talked about how his son has a difficult time dealing with dad dating. We were just friends and I had my own issues with my daughter having the same issues. Recently I was kinda dumped because his son couldn't deal with dad wanting to date again. I totally understand choosing your child over dating as would any good parent. It was just the night before, he begged me to stick it through with him. Less than 24 hrs later, he said he can't do it. His son's behavior is so bad and he can't take dad wanting to date again. I'm like WTH? I was asked to give him a chance and no sooner than the next morning, he gave up. Grrrr.  yawnquan40150.4805092593

Let's see, let me wonder aloud if your were intimate that night...

If so, know that the male sex drive is notoriously more powerful and less discrimating than the female.

In my experience, It is much better to delay sexual gratification.  How long you ask...till there is a real bases for commitment.

You have a tough row to hoe adn i wish you well.

Actually we haven't met yet because we both have crazy lives and wanted to wait until after the holidays so that we didn't have stress or obligations.

I would be disappointed as well. BUT I don't know if I think he is 100%, he may just be detoured while he deals with his son.

Hang in there.
