DS started ritalin this week..mixed bag so far. But, I am wondering about breakfast. Directions indicate 30 - 45 minutes before eating. But, he wakes up Hungry! Do you all do the meds on an empty stomach? It seem counter-intuitive considering after the meds he isn't hungry anymore. Thanks for the input!
My son doesn't like to eat when he first gets up-meds or no meds. But the doc told me if he wasn't eating well through the day to feed him before the medication kicks in. She suggested giving him his pill then food right away thinking he would still be hungry for at least a few minutes before the meds hit. So based on that advise from her I'm thinking it should be ok for him to eat.
