SleepMy son is 9 years old. He has always had trouble sleeping. His pediatrician gave us Clonodine to try to help but I hate giving him sleeping medicine. I can relate. 8pm bed time and still up at 10 asking him to be quiet.. stop singing and dont bang you head. Clonodine does work, but also if you have a radio or some mild noise to help. That sometimes makes the transition to sleep better. My son has always had the white noise to no avail. He also takes Clonidine during the day for the violent tendencies and at night it helps with sleep. I wish I didn't have to give him meds but without them he's out of control, and he doesn't lie being that way. Unfortunately in medicine nothing is perfect. I hope to hear from more people on their results with meds.White noice..we have a little machine that makes wave noices (it has a bunch of sounds ot pick from) also we have a night light that spins light on the ceiling if the white noice doesnt help the lights make him drowsey..except for tonight i can hear him running around stillMy son will soon be 8 yrs old also. He has ADHD and ODD. I wnet years without sleep. Unofrtunately I had to put him on Seraquel and so far it has worked. It's not perfect as with any medications but I get more good nights sleep than bad. msalice99, is it from the medication or just because of his ADHD??White noise is the best! Put a fan in his room making sure it is not blowing right on him of course. The constant white noise is very soothing! My husband and I have one in every bedroom and we all sleep well:) Lavendar oil in warm bath. Protein and complex carb dinners help also.Chaomile tea with honey or spenda. No side effects. rshn |
