My child started 2 mg four days ago, and he's still taking 1/2 mg Tenex in the afternoon, so I can't comment yet about Intuniv wearing off. Next week we'll eliminate the Tenex. He's taking Intuniv at 7:30 AM. I'm not yet sure whether he's doing better ADHD-wise than he was on Tenex, but anxiety we've seen recently has been better on Intuniv over Tenex. My child also takes Metadate CD and Zoloft.
Thank you all who have replied so far... we are doing well with taking it in the PM so we are sticking to it for now...My DS is 5 1/2 and has been on Intuniv for 4 weeks. He is currently on 2 mg and we give it to him in the morning around 7:00 A.M. We are still playing with the doses and I have considered trying the medicine at night. I am just concerned he will be too sleepy half way through school. The tiredness is much better but he still has moments.
I am not real sure how long the med is working at this time. He is definetly in need of it by the next morning and it seems to take an hour to kick in.
The medicine seems to really have helped with his hyper/implusiveness but still debatable on the focus.
rexrdc640167.9385069444I've noticed this information scattered across several threads, but I'd like to have a discussion where we simply post a) what time of day we are giving Intuniv, and b) how long it lasts. I know the information will help me as I adjust my son's dosage and times....
