First day with Intuniv & VyvanseI haven't frequented the boards for a couple of years, but when I returned last month I decided to read up on Intuniv in conjunction with stimulants. As a former user of short acting Adderall 20mg 1xdaily, and Adderall XR 20mg for a few days back in 2005, I decided to go to the doctor and pick some Vyvanse and Intuniv up. Even as I much prefer to take the short acting version of Adderall, as I think it works the best, I wasn't ready to go through the severe rebound and appetite loss, so long acting would probably be my best option. I gave my Vyvanse 20mg a try this morning. A little sleepy initially, but kicked in after awhile, very mild though. 6 hours later I took another Vyvanse tab, seemed like the first one had worn off already, or it was just too mild for me. It helped somewhat, but I appeared to be rebounding from the first dose, while the second one was kicking in. I decided to take a 1mg tab of Intuniv, and let me tell you what a Godsend this stuff is. The irritability, appetite loss was nonexistent. All those times that felt like hell for me while the drug was wearing off seems to be solved with the Intuniv. The copay on it is just crazy, $50 here! I'm going to look into the assistance programs on one of the stickys. Anyway, I'm 23. I was 17 when I first took adderall. Took 6 months off from Summer of 05 to 06. Took it on and off from 06 to summer of 07. Completely stopped, and started again today. Parents of children with rebound issues, try something for the rebound, but trust me the rebound really sucks, you feel paranoid and any and everything annoys you. |
