denial of coverage for meds by insurance | ADHD Information

I'm assuming you are taking the short- acting pills if you are taking more than three a day.  Have you tried the extended release?  Could you maybe take an extended release capsule in the AM and supplement later in the day with a short acting tablet? 
i'm 55 and i am on a high dose regimen of ritalin. now medicare limits the dosage to 3 tablets/day so my insurance (medicare) won't pay to have my prescription filled.  has anyone else run into this? how are you dealing with it? I understand they have put limits on adderall as well.
