Anyone had to Lower dose over time?
My son has been on Focalin about a month. His initial dose has beeneffective at 5 mg, but signs are pointing to this being too high all of a
sudden, and I think I may need to go down to 2.5 mg. From all I've read it
seems others' dosage goes up over time, and not down. Wondering if
anyone else has had the experience of having to lower the dose after a few
weeks of it working at a higher dose? Thanks!I recently lowered my son's dose of Straterra, but I know that is different from Focalin, so I don't know if this helps. Also, we are still trying to find the "ideal" right now, as DS has only been trying this med for about three months, and it takes a while (I think) to get the correct balance.Thank you for responding. We are going to see a doc on Wednesday to
discuss what may be happening, and perhaps explore a different med. Such
a bummer because it was going well ;(Yes, we had to lower Focalin when he was in first grade. Later switched to
Concerta.
