Question about Intuniv side effects | ADHD Information

Also Intuniv is the long acting for of Tenex.  I'm not familar with Intuniv specifically but I am with the long acting stims.  And the way they work is that there are two types of "granules" inside.  The 1st ones disolve right away.  The 2nd ones disolve sometime later (4 to 6 hours or so).  So it's like taking 2 short acting doses but you only took one pill.  Intuniv is supposed to be a 24 hour medication so maybe the "2nd granules" aren't disolving until 12 hours...just a thought...

My son has been on Intuniv with Focalin XR for almost 3 weeks. He has complained several times with a headache. But, it's USUALLY 12-14 hours AFTER taking the Intuniv. He also sometimes complains that his stomach is hurting (up high on his abdomen).  I know headache is a side effect, but would it occur 12 hours after taking it?   I'm also wondering if it could be his eyes. I think we need to take him to an eye doctor. But, he just started complaining of these headaches the past couple of weeks.

tonyab:

"Some of its side effects take time to start showing up, with sedation in particular starting after 3 weeks of treatment."
