new to this | ADHD Information

well I am hoping that all of you can be my answers. Lot to ask, I know. My 5 almost 6 year old son was just dx with adhd. I have known it for a long time, I being his mother could see things that stuck out. But I was always one to say that I would NEVER medicate my child...well here I am seeking advise on the DAYTRANA patch. He got through pre-school okay-some minor problems here and there. but now that he is in big boy school, he is suffering. cannot concentrate, can't take in the directions that the teacher gives, cannot sit still for one sec and loses interest in things very quickly. I had a parent/teacher conference meeting and I asked how to go about having him tested. well we did, and per his doc since he was born...he has adhd. So we are trying out slow and mild. Daytrana,...I have had the script now for a week and haven't given it yet, just keep researching and basically reading the same info over and over again until I found you guys. I felt a lot of relief when I read some of the things you all had to say about it so far and am very happy to be a part of this group.
