Too Low dose and Irritability? | ADHD Information

It's so hard to say with irritability!  My son gets irritable when the dose is too low (Ritalin) but this may be from just feeling all over "out of control".  If the dose is too high for him he also gets more aggitated and moody.  Most of this is because too much of a stimulant makes his anxiety and sensory processing problems worse.  My son's doctor added Tenex to help smooth out the irritability and it works VERY well.So I know that if the dose is too high irritability and sadness can occur,
which was the case when we gave our son 20 mg of Vyvanse. When we cut
the powder in half, all seemed well. Still, there has been some irritability,
and school today reported seeing some that was out of the ordinary for him.
Our doctor said to expect some irritability, and not judge the moments, but
to look at how the med is working i the larger picture- which I do think is
good advice. Still, I thought I read here that others have experineced
irritablity when the dose was too low, so I'm wondering if we try to gradually
increase to the 20mg that he'll be better off? Or does irritability come and
go regardless with these meds? Feedback much appreciated!
