ADD and Dyslexia | ADHD Information

I think there are some colleges that cater to adhd and/or dyslexic
students. There is a book of all of them on Amazon. Do a search on LD
and colleges, and see what you get. DOn't waste your time (or money)
with people who don't want to understand you.

i compleyetly undersntad what you mean. i also have dyslexia but i have ADHD although i was originally diagnosed with ADD but it was claer that i have the hyperactivity too cuz i can never sit down and sfutf. ok rite i am a 17 year old in the uk who has both ADD and dysleria (i know how to spell dyslexia because i spell checked it and cut n pasted it lol) and i writeing on here to say i'm very pissed off the hole system because i have found school and collage hard because of this (i have no GCSE's and on;y got into the collage because the the test u can take when u go in) i really wish that school and collage would pick up these problem's in school and give incressed amonts of help and seeing as i have both ADD and dyslexia i find it nearly inpossable to finsh anything and keep my head ontop of anything. i did'nt know i had ADD till i was 16 and it was my sister that found it out and i did'nt know i was Dyslexic till i was about 15 even tho it was clear i had it since i was born. in short what my big grant is about here is there any action i can take to stop kid's in the future having the same problem as me (both ADD ,Dyslexia) it just annoys me that half my life has been messed up and all i hear is,
your just lazy or don't use that as ur alaby

btw u'll probley laugh at this last bit i went to a doctor about this and i was told my ADD was probley just dyslexia  even tho i have all the  simtons  of the  ADD  I've been struggling with college here in the states on and off for years. The help they offer is minimal at best and really isn't geared towards ADHDers. It's like they have a generic answer that they think should include many or all disabilities. I'm actually hoping to give college one last try this fall so have been psyching myself up but I'm sure I'll run into the same problems. ye well i got ADD  and got it pretty bad as well only thing i keep at, at one time is a computer i unno why just able to plus it take no med i refuse to i see what it can do and don't go near it. i think i may take corunt(sorry bout spelling) action very soon because i really am sick and tried of messing things up and collage and school blameing it on me the_dead_slayer38358.032025463

What kind of action. Didn't think there was much we could do. LOL I just read the comment about your doctor saying the ADD is just dyslexia. That's crazy

lol ye i think at the medicice borad (NHS) and learning support because now i'm in collage i get abit of help for the dysleria but none for ADD i'm doing engineering which is cool for a dysleria student but hard for me as a ADD and dysleria student i thin action should be taken so more ppl like me who have so much brains and can go on F*** off good jobs all the help they need and all the support they need + a nation profile system that can pick up ADD/ADHD eary and get the help they need quicky and most importanty in my mind a drug free way
also like alot of ADD/ADHD ppl this has led to depresstion which is what i'm going to sue about i'm not going to try and get money out it i just want a way through and a way for me/others to get the help they need the_dead_slayer38358.048900463Dyslexia is a processing defeceit which can be helped. Go see a optomoterist which sees Dyslexic people and ADHD.Therapy exam is necessary. RSHNlol erm one i'm in the uk so things work differnt's plus it too l8 for that dyslexia is cureable is it was picked up earlyer and i had training on how to deal with it but i don't so that's life. plus i had all the exam's and test and really nothing they can do about it i have a bad short term mermory thats why i got dyslexia. also i put this on here because in the uk there is only 2 adult ADD/ADHD clincs my collage are clue less on what to do and i have o wait month to get help and support but i don't mide that the fact that when i was in school i had so many problem and learning problem and the school did even pick on this sadden me and that why i am thinking of sueing because if i had the help and support i what have GCSE's and i would hvae to goto 2 year's of exter collage just to try and get into uniAdd and dyslexia can come together.Seek a therapeutic exam by a Therapeutic optomoterist.
