Has anyone tried a program called....sm
The cost turned me off, but I would love to hear from someone who tried it, too.
We are dealing w/worsening behavior as well. I have placed a call to a children's hospital and am waiting to get an appt. In the meantime, I have a social worker coming over tomorrow to do a home study and help us out here. Being ticked off at his current doc gave me the gumption to get this going!
Have you tried a hospital outpatient program or help at home from a behavoiral specialist?
"The Total Transformation" ? My 11 y/o daughter is getting worse and worse. Nothing is helping. She is also bipolar and ODD besides being severely ADHD. She is completely out of control and making our lives a living hell. She has always done well in school, but is now starting to have social problems in school hitting other kids. I am considering placement in a Behavior Center, but I want a Christian facility and we dont have one near here. The closest one is St. Patricks Home for kids, but they do not deal with kids with "psychiatric" issues. There is another facility that is not a Christian facility that I am considering, but am fearful of how closely monitored the patients are or arent. My son was molested by a friend's father and I guess some of my fears stem from that knowing she will be with people we dont know, and dont know how closely monitored they will be, etc. So, before I do any of that as a last resort I was looking into "The Total Transformation" program, but would like to find some feedback as it is kind of expensive. Anybody know about it? Thanks. Read The Explosive Child first - it might give you enough traction to helpher learn to conquer her out of control anger.
It worked for my son who has ADHD that was so extreme the school
thought he had ODD. I don't know if the program would work as well for a
child with ODD. But you could give it a shot, and that's only $25, or free if
you get it from a library.
