Ok, so our doc sucks. My mom is a nurse and mentioned his name to another doc who said he has a rep of does not follow thru or seem to care. Nice!
I phoned an aqaintance who has a high functioning autistic boy to get her opinion. She told me already that someone came to her home to help w/a behavior plan. She advised me to call the Children's Specialized Hospital here in NJ. Once you finally get in and evaluated, they tell you everything you need to do and where to go. Bless you my dear! This is what I need!!! They told me to call back Mon, May 3rd just to get an appt, which will be polly months from now!
Meantime, I found a FREE program offered by the state. I was clicking here and there on the puter and found it. A social worker is coming tomorrow to do an eval in our home and all treatment will be home based. It's a short term proram.
Will update on our progress...meantime I will stick w/current doc for meds. Moving over to the med board w/a Tenex question...
That sounds really good. I've heard of social skills classes for kids with autism. I've wondered if they were open to kids with ADHD. I'm going to look into it sometime soon. This is the MAJOR area of delay for my son.
