Jbb80,
I hear you about the risk of meds! I was recently diagnosed with ADD at 27 years old. Your lucky you found out sooner. I'm taking adderall and am such a severe inatentive type that I have to take 20mg 2 to 3 times a day for it to work. I wonder if any of these horror stories were real studies on people taking adderall for 20year+. I hate reading articles about people saying ADD is a crock when they don't have it. Anyway I'm gonna keep taking it for now!
Hi There. I have been taking 10mg of Adderall twice a day on and off for about 7 years now. I took a break and went off of it for a year and realized that I just function better when I am on it. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was in 8th grade. I started medication in high school. My grades improved greatly from it. Now, I am 25 years old and back on meds. I have been reading all kinds of scary stories about ADD drugs. My biggest concern is that it may give me heart complications. I really want to stay on Adderall, but I am fearful that something may happen to me. Does anybody have and information on the long-term use of adderall? If so I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Feel free to email me at jbb80@aol.com. Thanks so much! Happy New Year to you all. There are no studies proving Adderall causes any long term damage. Still as a precausion when on these meds your doctor is supposed to send you for blood work and an EKG at least once a year to make sure everything is functioning properly.
