I think you're right. Procrastination does often have to do with fear. I remember the worst case I ever had was a teaching job right out of college at the community college where my father worked. I would just sit and stare into space for hours, just trying to get started planning, but nothing I thought of ever seemed good enough. And not even hyperfocus came to my rescue. Since then I've learned that I have to break down overwhelming jobs into small pieces, and it seems to help.

Part of my procrastination of important tasks may be a safety mechanism for avoiding embarrassement, that might result from making a simple, or complex, error.
So I am starting this thread, as a discipline, for myself to confront the fears of mistakes that might block my productivity.
Hyper-focus, at the absolute last minute, is the only way I ever get some things done.
