< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">It has been a very difficult year ..DS turns 7 at the end of the month and I am looking for words of encouragement that at 7 he WILL mature a little and some of this craziness will stop! Diagnosed ADHD (very hyper and impulsive), SPD - stimulis seeking, and this year with Tourettes.
At times he can be very aggressive, for instance..several episodes of knocking over furniture, throwing shoes, name calling "kill talk" and hitting...this week. He put his foot through the dry wall in the hallway after being told he couldn't play computer games. He has been in behavior therapy..but hasn't had any success..not even a little bit. Drs feel he is still to immature to take responsibility for his actions and work to change them..they said not til 9 or 10 years old.
He is on Tenex, but no stimulants due to the tourettes (horrible tics). DH and I are exhausted and at our wits end with his behaviors. We are especially concerned because hi is going to be a BIG guy..tracking for 6'6" 210lbs... already over 75lbs of pure muscle and extremely fast.
There are alot of wonderful things about him...and we try to focus on those. But, I feel like this aggressive/distructive behavior is so upsetting/scary. It has got to stop!
For those of you who are unable to use stimulants, was your son/daughter at their worst at 6? Or does it get worse?
Everyone says my son is getting better. The more education we both have,
