can stimulants INCREASE appetite?
i am really curious about this! i swear that since adderall xr i am more hungry now on it then i was off it!!!
i have not gained anymore weight though and am at the same weight but i want more sweets and more carbs and it is really frustrating to me to want these things all the time whereas before i did so in moderation but not it is a daily strggle, grrrrrr.
Yes, don't let anyone fool you. In most people, Adderal probably reduces appetite. But, I have noticed the same thing you have---that I get hungrier when I take it, and to make matters worse, I end up with an "I don't care" attitude about whatever I find to eat. Another thing I noticed is that Adderal can also make me tired, which of course, the doctors will tell me is impossible. Although Adderal primarily affects the neurotransmiters norepinephrine and dopamine, it has a small affect on serotonin. My theory is that it stimulates the serotonin receptors and makes us hungrier---just like many of the antidepressants do.i have heard the same thing and my son does crave more carbs
I get very hungry when adderall starts to wear off. Ritalin doesnt seem to affect me like that though.
